10 Steine Street, Kemptown, Brighton BN2 1TY – Selected Saturdays

Bar Broadway knows how to throw a brunch. Located in Steine Street, this cabaret bar hosts the QWERKY drag brunch packed with two fabulous performers, live vocals, comedy and audience participation.

There’s no lip syncing here and the brunch is all the better for it. From the moment Alex Fincher steps onto the stage, it’s clear this isn’t your average brunch entertainment. Dressed in a gold mini dress, they open the show with a stunning version of Fly Me to the Moon with a gorgeously velvety voice setting the tone for what’s to come.

After a warm up, the mood shifts as the whole room sings along to Say My Name by Destiny’s Child in a raucous singalong, led by Alex. That sets the energy for the afternoon, a mix of powerhouse vocals, campy fun and a genuinely welcoming atmosphere.
Bar Broadway is an intimate venue, styled with nods to the West End and Broadway, including signed photos of theatre stars. The space might be small but it makes for a lively, up-close experience where no one is too far from the action.

Drinks flow freely, with bottomless prosecco and house cocktails that pack a serious punch. Service is fast, with staff topping up glasses at the raise of a jug.
The food is simple but satisfying. A choice of beef or veggie burgers with chips does the job and portions are generous enough to soak up the booze.

The real draw is the entertainment. The second drag queen of the day, Miss Darcy Knox takes to the stage with towering hair and an even bigger personality, belting out a hilarious version of Dr Jones by Aqua before leading a rowdy ABBA singalong.
Both queens work the room effortlessly, chatting to every table, cracking jokes and making sure everyone feels part of the fun.

Games and prizes add another layer to the brunch with free shots for the winners and lots of audience participation.
By the final number, the whole venue is on its feet, singing, dancing and clapping along. The QWERKY drag brunch pulls out all the stops to leave everyone buzzing from both the atmosphere and the cocktails.

If you’re after a fun, interactive afternoon with top-tier drag vocals, Bar Broadway’s bottomless drag brunch is well worth checking out.
