Komedia, Brighton – 15th December 2024

The Suspiciously Elvis tribute show at Komedia was a full-throttle celebration of Elvis Presley’s Vegas-era glory. Ivor Potter took the stage with energy, charm and a voice that made you do a double-take. From the moment he launched into the opening number, the sold-out crowd was completely hooked.
Dressed to the nines in dazzling outfits worthy of Elvis himself, Ivor didn’t just look the part, he sounded it too. His rich, velvety vocals nailed Elvis’ iconic tone and he threw in those signature hip-shaking moves for good measure.

There’s no doubt he was having an absolute blast up there and his enthusiasm was infectious. He kept the Elvis accent going throughout the whole show which added to the fun and authenticity.
Backing him up was a fantastic six-piece band who knew exactly how to bring Elvis’ music to life. The female backing singer deserves a special mention with a stunning voice, soaring during the high notes. All together, the band recreated the feel of Elvis’ legendary 1970s Vegas shows, complete with all the flair and drama you’d expect.
The setlist is jam-packed with hits and the two-hour show flies by. By the second song, I Got a Woman, everyone was clapping, singing along and swaying to the beat. It was a full-on party atmosphere and the crowd didn’t let up.

Burning Love, Hound Dog and Suspicious Minds all provided amazing moments, while The Wonder of You gives everyone a chance to catch their breath. A rousing version of Sweet Caroline got the whole room singing at the top of their lungs.
Ivor’s connection with the audience was one of the highlights. He knew exactly when to ramp up the energy and when to slow things down with a heartfelt ballad. He didn’t take himself too seriously either which kept the mood light and the laughter flowing.
Stepping into Elvis’ legendary shoes isn’t easy but Ivor Potter did it with style, skill and charisma. The Suspiciously Elvis show was a nostalgic, fun-filled experience that saw the audience leave on a high.
