Review: Gamestars Bottomless Brunch

Gamestars Bottomless Brunch
Selected weekends at The Walrus, 10 Ship Street, Brighton, BN1 1AD

The Gamestars bottomless brunch served up a recipe for fun that’s hard to beat.

Taking place The Walrus in Ship Street in their cute downstairs space, this bottomless brunch mixed drag, cabaret, gameshow antics, tasty food and free-flowing drinks for a lively afternoon that left everyone smiling.

The warm atmosphere hit you as soon as you walked in. The tables were already set with water and the staff were friendly and welcoming.

The food kicked things off with options like the Big Breakfast Bun and Eggs Benedict, classic brunch staples that set the tone and lined the stomach before the bottomless drinks began.

Then come the drinks with a generous 90 minutes of bottomless mimosas, prosecco, beer, cider and soft drinks with attentive waitresses keeping your glass topped up without you even needing to ask.

The true star of the show, though, is drag host Ophelia Payne. With sharp wit, great vocals, cheeky banter and heaps of charm, they’re the glue that holds the afternoon together.

Whether cracking jokes, belting out disco classics or inviting guests up on stage for games such as Higher or Lower, Pictionary and lip sync battles, Ophelia kept the energy sky-high.

Fellow performer Alik brought extra sparkle with two seriously sassy and confident drag performances, including a Lady Gaga medley that was one of the brunch’s highlights.

By the time the games wrapped up and the music hit its peak, the whole room was on its feet, singing and dancing on the stage and in the aisles.

A special shout out to Rebecca, the event coordinator, who ensured that everything ran smoothly while keeping the vibe relaxed and fun.

If you’re after a brunch that’s all about laughs, sass and a few fun games, you can’t go wrong with Gamestars brunch in Brighton.
