This international production features a global team of performers from countries including Italy, France, Ukraine, Canada and more, all masters of expressive clowning who know exactly how to surprise and captivate audiences of all ages.

The show is a visual marvel, plunging audiences into a surreal world of dreamlike scenes and quirky antics. From clowns playfully ensnaring the crowd in a giant spider’s web to oversized balloons and a massive, out-of-this-world snowstorm, each act builds on the last, keeping everyone transfixed. Audiences can also expect the iconic scene with a coat rack on a railway platform, a moment both funny and surprisingly moving.

Since its debut, Slava’s SnowShow has charmed the world, earning over 20 prestigious awards, including the Olivier Award for Best Entertainment, a Drama Desk Award and a Tony Award nomination. Launched by Slava Polunin, whose quirky Expressive Idiotism style redefined Russian clowning, the show first premiered in Moscow in 1993 and reached UK audiences in 1996 at the Edinburgh Festival where it was immediately embraced.

With nearly 100 UK weeks under its belt and over a million spectators enchanted by its magic, Slava’s SnowShow has made a name for itself as a Christmas classic, especially in London where it held a festive residency at the Royal Festival Hall for seven years straight.

After its Brighton run from 11th to 15th December 2024, the show heads to London’s West End with a season at the Harold Pinter Theatre from 18th December to 12th January 2025.

Slava Polunin said: “London has a truly central place in my heart, as the city where I truly launched my international career, when I first brought SnowShow back in the mid-90s. Britain is where I find the greatest tradition of theatre, pantomime and clowning. The likes of Charlie Chaplin and Monty Python were inspirational for me. It feels like coming home.”

“SnowShow has been travelling the world every day for over 30 years, but it has been seven long years since we last brought it to the UK. We will be visiting Sunderland for the first time and coming back to the delightful Theatre Royal in Brighton. We have played London many times, but it will be a first for us at the prestigious Harold Pinter Theatre, a stage filled with such history and magic.”

“Clowning is much more than laughter. It’s about seeing life from a poetic perspective, finding joy and emotions in the simple, the absurd and the unexpected. The UK has always embraced our poetic universe and I can’t wait to see how a new audience reacts and look forward to welcoming back familiar faces who saw SnowShow many years ago.”

This December, Theatre Royal Brighton invites you to join in the festive fun with Slava’s SnowShow, where laughter, wonder and a snowstorm like no other await.
