The Winter Fair is gearing up to return to the South of England Showground in Ardingly, West Sussex, this November, offering a festive weekend full of activities and shopping. Running from 9am to 5pm on Saturday 23rd and 9am to 4pm on Sunday 24th November 2024, the event promises a mix of Christmas cheer and family fun.

A key feature of the fair is the variety of stalls showcasing goods from local and independent traders. From handcrafted leather accessories and cashmere fashion to Christmas decorations and artisanal jewellery, there’s a wide selection of unique items for those on the hunt for gifts or festive decor.
For foodies, the fair offers plenty of treats to explore with gourmet pies, artisan cheeses, wines and handcrafted Christmas goodies. It’s a prime spot for stocking up on seasonal delicacies ahead of the holidays.

On top of the shopping, there are several hands-on workshops and activities lined up (some with additional fees). Chocolate lovers can get creative with Chocolate Genie’s festive workshop, where kids can decorate Christmas-themed shapes and older participants can craft larger pieces like hearts and trees.
Other workshops include wreath-making with My Little Flower Boutique, where attendees can fashion their own festive wreaths, and a new Elf Workshop for 2024, hosted by Mistletoe the Elf, featuring storytelling, crafting and a letter-writing session to Santa. Another addition for this year is Willow Weaving where visitors can try their hand at bending willow to create festive shapes and decorations.

Alongside the workshops, families can enjoy classic festive attractions such as Santa’s Grotto and the children’s fairground. Live music performances will add to the atmosphere and visitors can capture a fun family photo inside the giant snow globe. Other activities include face painting, mini ride-on trains and a chance to see birds of prey up close.

With a packed programme of festive fun and a wide range of stalls, the Winter Fair is set to offer something for everyone, making it a popular choice for those getting ready for the holiday season.
Corrie Ince, Show Director at the South of England Agricultural Society, said: “We’re excited to bring the Winter Fair back to the Showground this November. The event truly offers visitors a unique shopping experience and wonderfully festive activities. It’s an excellent opportunity to find special gifts, enjoy seasonal food, support local artisans, and spend time with family. Moreover, every ticket sold supports our charitable efforts to engage children in countryside learning and support the development of those involved in agriculture and land-based industries.ˮ
