The acclaimed stage adaptation of C.S. Lewis’ The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is set to embark on a major UK and Ireland tour, making its way to Theatre Royal Brighton from 11th to 15th March 2025. The production, which garnered praise during its West End run, brings the beloved story of Narnia to life.
Published in 1950, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe has sold over 85 million copies globally, earning its place as one of the best-selling books of all time. This stage version, following its highly successful London stint in 2022-2023, brings together a blend of theatre, music and puppetry to tell the magical tale of the Pevensie siblings’ adventure in Narnia. The iconic characters of Mr Tumnus, the White Witch and Aslan are all brought to the stage in a visually stunning production.
As part of the 75th anniversary of C.S. Lewis’ novel, the tour is led by director Michael Fentiman, who is excited to bring this well-loved story to new audiences. According to Fentiman, the production celebrates live theatre’s potential, combining the talents of actors, musicians, dancers and puppeteers to create a vibrant show. This version of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe invites audiences into an imaginative world, enhanced by its multi-talented cast and creative production team.
Katy Stephens, known for her work with the Royal Shakespeare Company, takes on the role of the White Witch, a performance she says she’s eagerly anticipating. Stephens’ extensive stage experience promises a compelling portrayal of the icy, powerful villain who rules Narnia with a frosty grip.
The cast also includes Joanna Adaran, Jesse Dunbar, Kudzai Mangombe and Bunmi Osadolor as the Pevensie siblings, along with a strong ensemble cast. The creative team behind the production includes set and costume designer Tom Paris, choreographer Shannelle ‘Tali’ Fergus and composers Barnaby Race and Benji Bower.
Produced by Chris Harper Productions and Catherine Schreiber, this adaptation brings to life the enduring appeal of Narnia, showcasing a mixture of classic storytelling and modern theatrical innovation.
