Ricky Gervais’ Mortality Tour is Coming to Brighton

Ricky Gervais is set to bring his brand-new stand-up show, Mortality, to the Brighton Centre on Tuesday 26th and Wednesday 27th of November 2024.

If you’ve been craving a night filled with outrageous humour, thought-provoking banter and, let’s be honest, probably a bit of controversy, then this is the show for you. Tickets start from £37.50 per person and will be available for purchase this Friday 27th September 2024 at 10am.

Ricky Gervais has officially confirmed the first UK dates for his highly-anticipated Mortality tour and naturally, Brighton made the cut. This tour is shaping up to be a true heavyweight of the comedy world, kicking off in October 2024 and hitting 11 major UK venues. Along with Brighton, cities like Manchester, Cardiff and Liverpool are all on the bill, but Brighton’s lucky date is right before the Christmas rush.

If you’re already a fan of his previous stand-up specials like Humanity, Supernature and the recent hit Armageddon, then you’ll know exactly what to expect: razor-sharp wit, brutal honesty and a masterclass in how to poke fun at, well, pretty much everything. Discussing the upcoming tour: Ricky Gervais said: “We’re all gonna die. May as well have a laugh about it.”

Fresh from winning a Golden Globe and smashing Netflix records with his Armageddon special, Gervais is taking things up a notch with Mortality. His last show didn’t just win awards; it also claimed the world record for the highest-grossing comedy gig of all time. Mortality will also be filmed for Netflix.

What makes this show so special is that it’s the perfect blend of Gervais’s signature dark humour and his surprisingly philosophical side. Life, death and everything in between are all fair game.

For those of you who want to beat the crowds, there’s a cheeky little presale happening on Wednesday 25th September 2024. If you’re a fan of Ricky’s co-owned Dutch Barn Vodka, you’re in luck. Dutch Barn customers will get early access to presale tickets via a link and code (you might as well reward yourself with a tipple while you’re at it).

For the rest of us, O2 customers also have a presale on the same day and Live Nation will be opening up their own presale on Thursday 26th September 2024 at 10am. But if you want to skip the fuss, the general sale goes live on Friday 27th September, so be ready to snare those tickets.

In true Ricky Gervais fashion, a portion of the proceeds from the Mortality tour will go to charity. He’s no stranger to philanthropy, having donated around £1.91 million to animal charities at the end of his Armageddon tour in 2023.

So what exactly can we expect from Mortality? Well, if Ricky’s track record is anything to go by, you can bet it’ll be a mix of deadpan observations, clever punchlines and the sort of biting humour that leaves no stone unturned. Whether he’s riffing on life’s absurdities or tackling death head-on, Gervais knows how to strike that perfect balance between making you think and making you cackle.

And with over 80 work-in-progress shows under his belt this year alone, Gervais is well and truly in top form. If you’ve seen any of his previous work, you’ll know that Mortality will likely be one for the history books. The Brighton Centre is no stranger to big names, but this one feels like it’s going to be a bit extra.

With tickets starting at £37.50 and going on sale this Friday, you’ve got everything you need to secure your spot for what promises to be one of the comedy highlights of the year.
